Quloud-RSDFT

  • Openness:0 ☆☆☆
  • Document quality:0 ☆☆☆

Provides a complete set of environments necessary for computational materials science research in the cloud. A web browser is all that is needed to start a full range of first-principles simulations, including modeling, calculation, data storage, and analysis. RSDFT is used as the engine, and the lineup will be expanded in the future. Data can be shared within a group, and structural data from other software such as GAUSSIAN and VASP can be read.

History of Quloud-RSDFT

RSDFT has been developed as a core application in the field of materials science in the K computer and the Fugaku project. However, the dissemination of these software resources and their maintenance after the completion of a project are recognized as important issues, but no fundamental solutions have been found. Quloud-RSDFT is a new challenge to develop software from academia as a cloud business called SaaS (Software as a Service).

Features of Quloud-RSDFT

One of the major attractions of SaaS is that even so-called “pointy” applications from academia can be operated using a web browser, a UI that is familiar to a great many people. Another great advantage of SaaS is that users do not have to take care of anything at all in the most troublesome areas, such as computers, storage, and application installation.

Future of Quloud-RSDFT

Currently, it provides simulation software for conventional computers, but in the future we plan to provide materials simulations with quantum computers on the same platform.

Dream of developers

I would like to see more people who have knowledge of materials science but can also develop web applications.
